Citrus Banana Punch
Cheri Clotiaux Stringer (originally from Austin American-Statesman)
This punch is absolutely addictive! It was a city-wide favorite in Austin during the ’70s largely because the then-governor’s wife, Janey Briscoe, sang its praises in the Austin American-Statesman. You’ll find yourself drinking too much of this, but fortunately those special occasions (weddings, showers, etc.) don’t come around too often. (Dec 1996)
6 ripe bananas
1 (6oz) can frozen lemonade, thawed
1 (12oz) can frozen orange juice, thawed
1 (46oz) can pineapple juice
3 cups water2 cups sugar
2 (2 liter) bottles lemon-lime sodas
Blend bananas and thawed juiced in blender until smooth. Add pineapple juice, sugar and water. Freeze this mixture. When ready to serve, pour lemon-lime soda over frozen mixture in punch bowl to make a slush.
