Spiced Cider

Pam Clotiaux Howard (originally from Debbie Mann)
Yield: 2 quarts

We always have this at our Henderson Christmas Parade party — each year we gather at Don’s downtown office, have supper and watch the parade. It started out with the four of us and the Ross family (Diane, Donald, Ryan and Owen). I bring Chicken Salad, Nut Bread and Christmas Cookies from Leon’s Bakery and make “D” Helen Corbitt’s Cheese Soup [see Soup section]. Every year it grows in attendance and friends bring food to add to our original menu. (Dec 1996)

The scale of the party has fluctuated through the years, but the next generation is still taking advantage of the perfect location to watch the Christmas Parade and enjoy Spiced Cider! (Nov 2010)

I remember that for years Pam had this waiting for weary Thanksgiving travelers, if the weather was cool. The smell of this would fill her house and was such a warm welcome! —Alyson Stringer (Nov 2010)

4 cups water
2/3 cup Tang
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
