Coffee Punch
Cheri Clotiaux Stringer (originally from Lauren Sargent Cooley)
1 cup instant coffee
1/4 cup cocoa
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 cup boiling water
3 cups cold water
1 tsp vanilla
3 quarts milk
1 quart whipping cream, whipped or Cool Whip
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream
One of my son-in-law’s cousins introduced us to this punch. A great one for fall/winter gatherings when you’re not inclined to serve a fruity punch or a cider. This recipe is for a large group, so if you’re preparing for your family, half or third the recipe. (Nov 2010)
1 cup instant coffee
1/4 cup cocoa
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 cup boiling water
3 cups cold water
1 tsp vanilla
3 quarts milk
1 quart whipping cream, whipped or Cool Whip
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream
Mix coffee, cocoa and sugar. Add boiling water and mix until smooth. Add cold water, vanilla and milk. Chill until ready to use.
Pour into a punch bowl and gently fold in whipping cream and ice cream. Ladle into individual cups.
NOTE: Caffeinated or decaffeinated coffee works in this recipe.
