Dr Pepper Beef Dip
Alyson Stringer (originally from Dr Pepper)
No Texas cookbook is complete without a Dr Pepper recipe or two! Note, that you have to refrigerate this for several hours before serving for the flavors to marry. (Nov 2010)
Since Dr Pepper corporate wiped out Dublin Dr Pepper (the only version that was close to the original that was created in Texas), I opt for HEB's cane-sugar version of Dr Pepper.
In medium mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add remaining ingredients, except pecans.
Refrigerate several hours or overnight.
Garnish with pecans, if desired. Serve with assorted crackers.
